We’re thrilled to announce the release of PDFMonkey Engine v5, packed with exciting new features and improvements. Let’s take your document generation to infinity and beyond!
Generate Images, Not Just PDFs!
The headline feature of Engine v5 is the ability to generate images alongside PDFs. Yes, you read that right! You can now create custom images using the exact same workflow you’re already familiar with.
How does it work?
- Create templates with an output type of “Image”
- Control dimensions to fit your exact needs
- Choose between transparent or solid backgrounds
- Use all the template features you already know and love
The best part? There’s absolutely nothing to change at the API level. Your existing integrations will work seamlessly with this new capability.
Chromium Upgrade: From 123 to 133
We’ve upgraded our Chromium engine from version 123 to 133, bringing you several benefits:
- Better font rendering for crisper, more professional documents
- Improved CSS support including the latest grid and flexbox features
- Enhanced JavaScript performance for complex template logic
- Better print media handling for pixel-perfect outputs
Enhanced Paper Format Respect
This new engine respects paper formats better than our previous approximations. Your A4 documents will now be true A4, not A4-ish.
